Polar is designed for cold therapy between 39 °F and 60 °F (4–15 °C). Set your temperature on the touchscreen and the 1 HP chiller holds it continuously. Always check the water with an accurate thermometer before use.
As a rule of thumb, Polar cools about 4–5 °F per hour. Once it reaches your set temperature, it maintains it throughout the day, so there's no waiting between sessions.
Start with short sessions and build up gradually as you learn how your body responds. Many people plunge for just a few minutes at a time. Stop immediately if you feel signs of hypothermia, such as violent shivering, sluggishness or confusion.
No plumbing is required: fill it with a clean garden hose using the supplied hose filter, and drain it using the drain connector. It plugs into a dedicated 120V, 15A outlet with GFCI protection on the cord. The outlet should be at least 5 ft from the water.
Yes. Polar can be used indoors or outdoors on a flat, solid surface that supports about 1,250 lbs when filled. Use the cover when it's not in use, and avoid leaving it exposed to extreme weather or freezing conditions.
Ozone sanitation and filtration keep the water clean day to day. Test and balance the water regularly, keep the cover on between sessions, and change the water every 3–6 months depending on use.
Yes. Polar includes a heater, so you can switch from cold plunge to warm water.
Cold water immersion isn't right for everyone. Consult a physician before use if you are pregnant, have heart disease, high or low blood pressure, circulatory problems or diabetes, or take medication that affects heart rate or circulation. Never use the plunge after alcohol or drugs, and supervise anyone new to cold exposure.
