Boreas™

Cold, without the nitrogen.

Whole-body cryotherapy, fully electric.

Traditional cryotherapy depends on liquid nitrogen deliveries, storage tanks and careful handling. Boreas uses electric refrigeration instead, so it simply plugs into your facility's three-phase power and runs.

Clients step in, the door closes, and a 2 to 4 minute session begins at temperatures down to −90°C (−130°F). No tanks, no vapor, no refills.

Why electric

Safer. Simpler. Cheaper to run.

Nitrogen-cooled chambers come with ongoing gas costs, delivery schedules and handling procedures. An electric chamber removes all of that. Your running cost is electricity, and your team never has to manage a cryogenic gas supply.

Because the cold comes from a sealed refrigeration system, the air inside the chamber is breathable air, not nitrogen vapor.

Engineering

Built around German refrigeration.

Commercial-grade, from the compressor up.

At the heart of Boreas is a German BOCK compressor, built for continuous ultra-low-temperature duty. The refrigeration system is integrated into the chamber itself, and an external water chiller carries the heat away so the room around it stays comfortable.

The chamber ships fully assembled and tested. Once it's in place and connected to power and the chiller, it's ready to commission.

The client experience

Three minutes. Fully present.

Clients stand in a roomy single-person chamber with a large glass window in the door, so they can see out and staff can see in throughout the session. Sessions run 2 to 4 minutes, set from the touchscreen.

The chamber recovers its temperature in minutes between sessions, so you can run back-to-back appointments through the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

The chamber runs down to −90°C (−130°F). It takes about 60 minutes to cool down from room temperature, and about 7 minutes to recover between sessions.

No. The chamber is fully electric. Cold comes from a sealed refrigeration system built around a German BOCK compressor, so there's no nitrogen to buy, store or handle.

Whole-body cryotherapy is not suitable for everyone. People who are pregnant, or who have heart or circulation conditions, uncontrolled high blood pressure, Raynaud's syndrome, cold sensitivity or cold allergy, open wounds, or a pacemaker or other implanted device should not use the chamber without their physician's approval. Screen every client before their first session.

Sessions run 2 to 4 minutes and are set from the touchscreen. Clients should wear dry gloves, socks and footwear, and remove jewelry and anything damp before entering.

With short sessions and quick temperature recovery, one chamber typically serves 6 to 8 clients an hour.

A stable 220–240V, 60 Hz, three-phase five-wire supply (L1, L2, L3, N, PE), installed by a licensed electrician. The chamber draws up to 10 kW, and up to about 17 kW together with the water chiller, which starts at the same time. Our team sends full specifications before delivery.

The compressor requires three-phase power. If your site only has single-phase service, talk to our team before ordering so we can review your options with your electrician.

The chiller carries heat away from the refrigeration system. It's included, and is best installed outdoors. If it has to go indoors, it needs exhaust ducting to vent warm air outside.

The chamber measures 94.5 × 47.2 × 62.2 in (H × D × W) and ships fully assembled, so check doorways and access routes. Our team will review your space, power and chiller location before you order.

The chamber is designed to run without a dedicated attendant, but we recommend trained staff supervise every session and screen clients beforehand.

Yes. Commercial financing is available for single and multi-unit purchases. Talk to our team for options.

Wipe down the interior and door between sessions, keep the chiller and vents clear, and follow the maintenance schedule in the operation manual. A recommended first-year spare parts kit is included.

The chamber is a large commercial system built to order, so it can't be returned once production has started or it has shipped. Damage in transit and defects are covered under our Warranty. See Shipping & Returns for details.
